Ha sido una grata lectura este libro que amablemente me envío la autora y conocí gracias a Ramón, el ourensano infatigable del Camino De Santiago y mejor persona, ser polifacético como humilde a partes iguales y esta lectura ha sido una grata sorpresa al ver a una persona que merece la pena, se abre en sus pensamientos dando pinceladas para formar el gran cuadro de ir conociendo a esa persona que escribe y que tiene un lenguaje a la vez que accesible te engancha y creo que en muchas cosas coincido plenamente, no tanto en las redes sociales porque cada día soy mas de valorar miradas de ojos y la placidez ante el frenético devenir de internet.
Debo decir que había oído remotamente de este camino pero creo que plasma fielmente las vivencias y siempre sale el sol aunque no siempre podamos verlo. Es un libro de superación y valoración de uno como persona porque el viajar independientemente de destinos nos forja el caracter y nos hace ver desafíos, podría decir que prueba superada pero creo que lo más importante es la esencia de la autora como una fiel escudera más alla de Juana o Sancho, el enriquecimiento personal no tiene precio y se plasma en la busqueda de una nueva buena vida. Debo decir buen camino y mejor lectura. Larga vida Isabel.

Hoy día, hay que estar conectado, ya sea por trabajo, por amistades o por familia. Gracias a las redes sociales, nos comunicamos e interactuamos con nuestros amigos y nuestra familia, da igual en qué parte del mundo se encuentren. Yo cada día menos Isabel.
A algunos el destino los llevó a miles de leguas, como es el caso de mi hijo. Hoy, un año más tarde, conecto con él. Es valiente, porque apostó por su futuro rompiendo el decrépito presente que se vive en mi ciudad. Muchos jóvenes buscan en ella trabajo, pero no lo encuentran. Los que sí, solo consiguen ocupaciones eventuales, con contratos y salarios precarios. Y te preguntarás qué tendrán que ver las tecnologías con el Camino de Santiago…
Para moverse con soltura por las redes, ojo, el conocimiento de idiomas es indispensable, sobre todo el inglés. Esta lengua es la asignatura pendiente para muchos; otros parecen estar siempre en la situación de “progresa adecuadamente”. Son abundantes las palabras en inglés que se utilizan en las redes.
En las redes debes dar buena imagen. Para ello resulta fundamental fomentar tu marca personal, personal branding, como dirían en inglés. Esto es una crítica, un grito a favor de mi lengua castellana, desplazada en el mundo de la nueva comunicación, entre los profesionales y en el día a día. Sin embargo coincido plenamente en que valoras la libertad por encima de todo y aprendes a no depender de cosas o personas que no te aportan nada y, sin embargo, te paran. A veces, creo que ser selectivo es bueno para la salud.
Así es el Camino de Santiago: tu vida, tu camino. Cada etapa puede llevarte a un periodo de tu vida. En cada una te muestra tanto lo más hermoso como lo peor, a través de señales, las cuales aparecen ante ti; otras, simplemente, las sientes. Ahí está la magia, porque el espíritu peregrino es eso, caminar por tu propia vida y ser peregrino de tu vida. He ahí que haya muchos caminos: el Francés, el Primitivo, el Inglés, el Aragonés, el Vasco Interior, el del Sureste, el de Levante, el de Madrid, el de la Lana, el de Azahar, el Mozárabe, el Mozárabe Manchego, el del Alba, el de las Estrellas, el de la Plata, el del Norte, el de Liébana, el Portugués (con la variante espiritual y marítimo fluvial)… y el Camino de Santiago de Gran Canaria.

Nunca olvides que el camino no es una competición en la que se te premia con la Compostela, sino que el camino eres tú.

Dicen que en un pueblo costero se estaba celebrando una boda. El novio participaba en el juego que consistía en aborfardar, es decir, lanzar al aire con destreza una bofarda (lanza). La bofarda en esta ocasión cayó a la ría. El novio fue a rescatarla y, junto con su caballo, se hundió. A ambos los rescataron la embarcación que portaba los restos del apóstol, que en ese momento pasaba por allí. Al salir del agua, tanto el novio como el caballo estaban llenos de conchas de vieira. Dicen que una de ellas se encontraba abierta (lo que simboliza la generosidad y las buenas obras). Así nació el símbolo de la vieira. Otros afirman que nació de que se usaba la vieira para beber agua de las fuentes. La vieira también simboliza el renacimiento y la muerte. Lo cierto es que en el Códice Calixtino quedó registrado que, para mayor gloria del apóstol, los peregrinos las llevarían prendidas en sus capas. Hoy, llevar la conchavieira te identifica como peregrino.
Los peregrinos, solían llevar una vestimenta especial, además de la vieira (pecten jacobaeus), su símbolo por excelencia: llevaban su caya, su bordón y su bastón. Este servía como apoyo en el largo caminar y para defenderse de animales y ladrones que salían paso durante el camino. También servía para llevar las calabazas huecas, atadas al bastón, que llenaban de agua, vino e incluso medicinas o pociones.
El bastón se considera símbolo de resistencia y despojo. Además, cumplía la misma utilidad que el morral, el zurrón o la amapola:
guardaban ahí su comida. Dicen que si se lleva abierto es símbolo de generosidad.
Por último, y no por ello menos importante, la Cruz de Santiago. Se trata de una cruz latina grana que simula una espada. Es la cruz con la que fue decapitado el apóstol y simboliza el carácter caballeresco.
La forma de la flor de lis hace referencia al honor categórico, que tiene su origen en la época de las Cruzadas, cuando los caballeros llevaban pequeñas cruces con el inferior afilado para clavarlas en el suelo, con el fin de realizar sus devociones diarias.

El Camino de Santiago de Gran Canaria empieza como las islas, desde la profundidad del océano (no olvides este dato). La primera y, por tanto, más antigua, es la isla de Lanzarote; la segunda, Fuerteventura; la tercera, Gran Canaria y Tenerife.
Cada isla tiene su encanto y es única. Distintas e incomparables, cada una tiene su propia identidad. Cada visitante se identificará
más con alguna de ellas, bien por sus aficiones o por algo que busque en especial. Me atrevería a decir que cada isla es selectiva con sus visitantes y no deja entrar a cualquiera en su maravillosa tierra de volcanes. Son ellas las que te eligen a ti, no tú a ellas. Islas afortunadas, especiales, mágicas… Aunque creas que las conoces, siempre te sorprenderán con algo nuevo.

1.Etapa: Maspalomas, Dunas, faro, Ayagaures
Gran Canaria, la gran desconocida para muchos, la isla que te atrae y te atrapa misteriosamente por su desconocida belleza. Tiene forma de vieira. Su valva ondulada, por su infinidad de surcos o canales, se asemeja a los muchos senderos que la isla ofrece para conquistarla. Su conquista es inmanente, hacia dentro.
El plátano-milagro. ¿Qué decir sobre que el plátano, el cultivo más importante de las islas Canarias? Exquisito. Tomar plátano en
caminatas largas, incluso en pruebas deportivas como maratones, resulta un acierto: es el mejor alimento para reponer, sobre todo, el potasio perdido con el esfuerzo.
Nos adentramos en Fataga, localidad del municipio de San Bartolomé de Tirajana, una aldea blanca, decorada con multitud de flores de colores que resaltan ante la pulcritud de su blancura. Se nota que la cuidan. A nuestra derecha, la blanca iglesia de San José, construida por el pueblo y bendecida en 1880.
2.Etapa: Tunte, Cruz Grande, Cruz de Tejeda
El sendero nos conduce directamente y sin pérdida hasta la Degollada de Cruz Grande, en un ascenso con tramos de largos escalones. Si me quejaba de la subida de Fataga a Tunte, de esta solo puedo decir que es como ir subiendo escalones. No me atrevo a decir que es un camino rompepiernas, por no atraer a la ley de Murphy.
Érase una vez un pueblito llamado Santa Brígida, situado en el cráter de un volcán, en la cuenca del barranco Guiniguada que marcaba, la línea separadora entre los guarnartematos (Gáldar y Telde). Es una hermosa vega rodeada de árboles frutales, viñedos y unas majestuosas palmeras, en una isla rodeada por sus seis hermanas en medio del océano.
3.Etapa: Aeropuerto – Tunte – Cruz de Tejeda
Mi camino entre volcanes, hasta ahora, no ha sido fácil. Reconozco que, como mi vida, ha tenido momentos maravillosos que he
disfrutado y otros horrorosos que he sufrido. Estos parece que han durado más, porque el dolor, a veces, nos bloquea, nos inmoviliza
130 Isabel Albella Sánchez hasta el punto de que dejamos de sentir nuestro ser, nuestro yo. El momento presente se convierte en constante agonía y nos estancamos.
Sus cumbres, barrancos, laderas abruptas y roques forman un impresionante y extraordinario amanecer entre las cumbres. Unos roques me impactaron por su oscuro color y magnitud. Pasar tan cerca de ellos causa respeto. El paso por el último de ellos resultó impactante. Parece una cabeza redonda y el perfil de un hombre. Apolonio nos cuenta que le llamaban el Caudillo; y en efecto, el parecido con el dictador es asombroso. Son esculturas creadas por la Madre Naturaleza. Su cantería es la isla y su caja de herramientas, la climatología. Los vientos, las lluvias y las corrientes son sus bailarinas, cinceles y gradinas. Con ellos crea una galería de arte natural con gloriosos y majestuosas monumentos de estilo arriscado.
Tegueste, Hoya Pineda, Anzofe, Cueva Pintada y llegada a Santiago de los Caballeros de Gáldar. Bien, último tramo. Tengo recuperadas
las fuerzas. Bueno, algo recuperadas. Apolonio nos indica que estamos a punto de llegar al Camino de Garrapatas. ¡Horror! Insisto, el camino es para vivirlo y disfrutarlo…

To my way of thinking it has been a pleasant read to read this book that the author kindly sent me and I met thanks to Ramón, the tireless native of the Camino De Santiago and a better person, being versatile and humble in equal parts and this reading has been a pleasant surprise to see a person that is worth it, opens up in your thoughts giving brushstrokes to form the great picture of getting to know that person who writes and who has a language that is both accessible and hooks you and I think that I fully agree with many things, not so much with the social networks because every day I value more the looks of the eyes and the placidity in the face of the frenetic future of the Internet.
I must say that I had heard remotely about this path but I think it faithfully captures the experiences and the sun always rises even if we can’t always see it. It is a book of improvement and appreciation of oneself as a person because traveling independently of destinations forges our character and makes us see challenges. I could say that the test has been passed, but I think the most important thing is the essence of the author as a faithful squire beyond of Juana or Sancho, personal enrichment is priceless and is reflected in the search for a new good life. I must say good way and better reading. Long live and hats off Isabel!.
